Art Mediums
The following types of art can be captured for reproduction or portfolios.
- Shiny oil or acrylic paintings...are obvious.
- Pencil...Did You Know, that darker shades of graphite pose glare problems? (I should say heavy application of pencil - as pencil never really gets very dark)
- Watercolours...can also exhibit shine with heavy applications. However, both pencil and watercolour mediums suffer greatly in their light tints when they are copied on a flat bed. Even when the computer monitor shows subtle differences in tone, keeping those tones in print is quite another matter. The lightest quartertone needs to be reworked in order to print properly, or the printer will flatten highlights into a sea of mush. This understanding is really only part of the battle.
- Pastel and Charcoal...too fragile to place directly on a flat bed scanner.
- 3 dimensional artwork...I have decades of experience shooting all types of craft from pottery and jewelry, to stained and slumped glass, to fabric and quilts.
I need to know what your requirements are before providing a quote. I do look forward to seeing your artwork.
